The FM-206 contains an internal pump and is fully self-contained, not requiring any source of external compressed air. You simply put it on your bench, and turn it on - thats it.The FM-206 is compatible with the FM series of Hakko handpieces, nine in total. These include hot air pencils, tweezers, and desoldering irons. There are also several styles of soldering irons, including micro irons designed for SMD work, and heavy-duty 140-watt irons for large ground planes and high heat sink applications. A full list of compatible units can be seen below. In addition, the FM-206 was designed to integrate with the FR-830 and FR-870 preheaters. These can be programmed to work together, as well as deactivate when work is completed. All of the handpieces below are compatible with the Hakko FM-206 rework station.
